First thing you'll notice is the weight of this thing, it's heavy for an action figure this size, and is almost always a good thing. Any time you feel some heft, it usually means there's a lot of paint present; more on that later! Secondly, you'll notice this figure has one of the most sinister-looking face-sculpts you'll ever see! And it's not just a "I'm the Boogey-Man" kind of look, it's a "I'm gonna eat your f@#%$#! eyeballs in your sleep" kind of look. Awesome.
There's a techno-organic vibe to the suit, the ribbing on the gold areas make it seem like those are his muscles underneath and the green suit is his skin. There are folds and wrinkles where you'd expect, with almost no seams (only one on each bicep), which adds to the skin-like appearance. I hate this bastard and his sexy hair, I've been trying for so long to get my hair looking like this, and this jerk just wakes up with it all perfect like that. Grrr. Anyway, the gauntlets have clasps and sharp fingers (Black Panther's "claws" look like spoons compared to these!), and the fingers even have ribbing underneath! There's even a little bit of an ornate design where the metal meets the suit at the upper-arm, it's just too bad the rod of the hinge there ruins the presentation. The bicep has a semi-deformed look to it, like ML Face-Off Punisher. It's recessed a little more near the inner-elbow so the forearm can bend further. It's not too bad, but it can get annoying if you pose the figure side-ways. Surprisingly, despite all the articulation, the figure still looks smooth and sleek. I'm so glad they didn't re-use the horrible Black Panther body like I originally thought, but the arms look slightly too long, I think it might be because the wrists are too big.
The feet provide great stability, you could stand this figure on almost any surface, like a rocky slope, or a bumpy mattress as you bounce up and down because you're typing and choking on a piece of pizza. If you rub the chest/crotch/butt pieces, you'll notice they have a slight texture, like extremely fine sandpaper. Oh, the things I do for reviews. The spiky tentacle-things lashing-out from the back aren't removable but they are flexible, I just wish they would retain their position when moved. They also look kinda bland compared to the detailed body. How about something like Iron-Spiderman's 3 legs?

Sculpt Score: 9 / 10

Sometimes it's hard to tell when something is painted or not, but judging from the weight and matte-finishes, I think most of this figure is painted. I don't think the crotch/torso is painted, but it does have air-brushed shading. The Hunter Green (it could be Forest Green, I don't know, but "Hunter" sounds more badass!) is uniform all over, but the painter went a little crazy with the shading on the arms so they look a little darker, but not much. The shading in general is kinda spotty, like the guy was still getting a feel for where to add shading effectively. The brighter green spots are glossy so they contrast well with the darker matte-green.
The hair is just black plastic, with no high-lighting, but that's good because it just adds to the figure's dark nature. All the metal-colored parts are painted to look like burnt-metal (I think that's just the shading-guy going crazy again but it looks good, lol). The spiky-tentacles are a solid, very dark green. I used to complain a lot about The Darkness's suit being green, but combined with the silver and gold, you get a nifty color-scheme. Besides, we have enough black-garbed characters in comics as is.
The face is what grabs our attention, the small exposed area of flesh and mouth-guard actually have a wash to add more depth. The wash on the guard could stand to be neater, but it gets the job done. It might just be a trick of light, but the flesh looks a shade too pink to me. There is also the usual fading at the edges of some of the colors, mainly the gold areas, but nothing drastic.

Paint Score: 8 / 10

What can you expect other than a 9 or higher for LCBH and ML figures! Everything moves, almost any pose is attainable! Even the rocking-ankles are well-hidden despite being in plain sight, now that's crafty! There are some problems with the construction though, mainly the wrists because it looks like they had to be extended a bit to fit the Hinge there. The solution is, of course, to use a smaller Hinge, but who knows what crazy reason there was to use this big Hinge? Also, most of the joints are Click-Joints, but they are TOUGH to move! There LOUD clicks when you move an arm or leg, if you don't grip the arm or leg securely before moving the joint, you might break the peg that connects to the crotch. The Ab-Crunch is super stiff, but it is a hell of a lot better than the loose Ab-Crunch I'm used to seeing. It has basically 3 positions, tilt back, upright, and tilt forward.
The neck is a Swivel-Hinge, and it works fine because the hair is flexible enough to give way. The chin hides the front of the joint and the hair hides the back, but I'd still prefer a Ball-Socket, Swivel-Hinges get loose fast in necks. Oh, all the fingers are individually articulated!

Sexy grungy dirty long-haired murderers with claws and supernatural powers, damn I loved the 90's. Give this guy a guitar and chicks would throw themselves at him. This figure screams to be thrown into a fight with your other figures, he would completely and utterly wreck them. You know, unless they have a flashlight, because then he'd turn into dust, lol. Longer/poseable stabby-tentacles would have been SO fun, but this figure is still fun to look at and play with, the sturdy joints let you get lots of cool poses and keep them too. Just don't give it to your baby brother unless your idea of fun is unhooking claws from his eyelids. The Darklings are fun, and you could always paint the BAF piece all black to make a SHADOW MONKEY CROTCH MINION!

Fun Score: 7 / 10

These LCBH figures were, what, like 8 bucks when they came out? Hell yes! this figure is worth at least 8 bucks! Even $11 wouldn't be too bad, it's a solid chunk of plastic with lots of detail, and poseability, AND you get 2 of those hideous little minions! AND a BAF piece! AND AN APPLE PIE! You can still find this figure for cheap online, and sometimes even on clearance in stores. The packaging is pretty bland for MOC collectors, but don't let that stop ya.

Value Score: 9 / 10

Summary

9 - Tons of neatly-sculpted detail, hands don't look too big despite being claws

8 - Overall smooth apps, just some fading in a few areas

9 - Strong and plentiful joints, maybe too strong though!

7 - I think it looks cool enough that anyone would buy this figure

9 -Lots of plastic for $8 is awesome nowadays, especially considering some puny GI Joes are $12 now

Overall Score: 87 / 100 - This is a Great Toy

This is an awesome toy, but the super-stiff joints make you not want to turn the joints at all, which kills a lot of the fun.
