I really like the sculpt of the Red Hulk.  He has the same body as the Green and Gray Hulks.  The only differences are the head and the left hand.  I passed up the earlier Hulks because of the head sculpt, but this guy looked too good.  Also, we now get two fists to he can pummel everyone.  There are plenty of rippling muscles, and I like the overall proportions of this guy a lot.

Sculpt Score: 9 / 10

The little bit of paint that Rulk has is done well.  His eyes in particular are crisp and painted on straight.  There were plenty of these guys at the store, and they all looked equally good.  Another thing that I like about this guy is that there is no wash over his body to bring out the details.  I usually like some wash, but Rulk does not need one.  Also, on the Green Hulk it looked like you would get mismatched parts because of the wash on his body, so you don’t have to be concerned with that here.  The pants are dark blue, and they do have a black wash, but it all looks even.

Paint Score: 8 / 10

Same articulation as the Green Hulk, which once again means that below the waste he’s pretty much stuck in the same pose.  That is going to turn a lot of people off of this figure, but not me (too much at least).  I don’t need my Rulk to be able to sit down, or knee somebody in the face.  I would like the possibilities, but he is still a big imposing figure.  The swivel neck instead of a ball joint is once again lacking.  Elbows have a full 90-degree bend, and the shoulders have a pretty good range of movement.

Articulation Score: 7 / 10

Despite the limited articulation, Red Hulk is very fun.  He looks really pissed off, and capable of smashing a lot of things.  His upper body has enough posing possibilities to make me happy, and he is just fun to hold and imagine tearing some stuff up.

Fun Score: 8 / 10

At roughly $8, you’re getting a pretty good-sized piece of plastic.  His great sculpt and size make him a better value than other figures at the same price.

Value Score: 8 / 10

Summary

9 - Great body as before, new hand and great new head.

8 - Not a lot of it, but no slop from what’s there.

7 - About what I’d expect from such a swollen looking character.

8 - Big, angry, smash, FUN!

8 - Good sized figure for the going 3.75” figures these days.

Overall Score: 80 / 100 - This is a Great Toy

Red Hulk barely makes the “Great” grade.  For those of you who will be turned off by the horrible leg articulation he will not score as well.  But for me, he is a lot of fun and I’m glad that I picked him up, for no other reason than that I wanted a giant guy in a 3.75” scale.
